DA VINCI SCIENCE CENTER SEISMOMETER RECORDS HONDURAN EARTHQUAKE

The Da Vinci Science Center’s Quakes and Shakes Seismometer has recorded an image of today’s earthquake off the northern coast of Honduras. The earthquake measured at magnitude 7.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Quakes and Shakes Seismometer, made possible by a grant from the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology, measures earthquakes of moderate and large magnitude anywhere in the world. It is available for viewing on the Da Vinci Science Center’s exhibit floor and through the Center’s web site at www.davinci-center.org.
