Our Commitment
The Da Vinci Discovery Center of
Science and Technology is an
independent, 501 (c)(3) non-profit
corporation dedicated to advancing
world-class education throughout
the region. Through our new
demonstration facility, classroom
outreach initiatives and professional
development programs for teachers
we strive to provide a stimulating,
hands-on learning laboratory for
exploration and demonstration of
best practices for teaching with
scientific inquiry.

We currently serve over 100,000
school youth, teachers and families
annually. From July 2005 through
June 2006, the Da Vinci Institute
Teacher-Leader Professional Development Program held over 800 teacher-training days in six (6) school districts for kindergarten through eighth grade science educators.

Participants in our Da Vinci Institute have shared their involvement as:

In addition, in partnership with the Math & Science Partnership of Greater Philadelphia at LaSalle University, our Director of Professional Development, Dr. David Smith, provided roughly 75 teacher-days of in-service for sixth through twelfth grade educators. The Center also hosted a workshop for secondary and college teachers lead by international education expert Dylan Wiliam.
